From October 3rd to November 15th, 2026, Vincom Contemporary Art Center (VCCA) is honoured to present the solo exhibition “AZURE GALAXY” by artist Trương Tân, featuring nearly 200 artworks on ceramics and 300 landscape sketches. The exhibition offers a new perspective on one of the pioneering artists of contemporary Vietnamese art, with a powerful and uncompromising artistic practice.
Trương Tân is a representative artist of the first generation of contemporary Vietnamese art. Since the late 1980s, he has become a leading voice with works that directly engage in dialogue surrounding topics such as body, identity, gender, and cultural structures in contemporary life.
“AZURE GALAXY” evokes the distinctive blue hue of gốm lam – which plays a significant role in the history of Asian ceramics. In the exhibition, "azure" not only represents the material but also reflects a transformation in the artist's approach to matter, time, and the creative process itself.
The works presented in this exhibition do not exist independently, but form a system of visual forms that Trương Tân has meticulously created within a limited timeframe. The considerable volume of work, along with the meticulousness and rigor in each piece, demonstrates the artist's enduring dedication and abundant creative energy.
